The purpose of this site is to illustrate the indominable will of the human spirit, and to show the many sides of conflict. This will be accomplished through the use of the currency which was made for use during, and immediately following, WWII in the Philippines. The Guerrilla money, which is the main focus of this web site, was accepted out of both national pride as much as neccessity. To be caught by the Japanese with this money was often punishable by public execution.
