After invading the Philippines the Japanese government attempted to act as “liberators”, claiming they were freeing the Philippine Islands from colonial occupation by America. Soon after this a group of influential Filipino politicians and businessmen petitioned the Japanese government to allow them to form a new government, but this government became a ‘puppet state’ headed by José P. Laurel. This government lasted from October 14th, 1943 until the US fully removed it on August 17th, 1945.

They printed both 10 Pesos and 100 Pesos notes, but I have never seen the 10 Pesos. Below is every variation of the 100 Pesos note I know of (all specimen varieties as well as ‘remainder’ notes that did not have serial numbers applied).
